 The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) was created on April 01, 1924, through the enactment of the Central Board of Revenue Act, 1924. In 1944, a full-fledged Revenue Division was created under the Ministry of Finance. After independence, this arrangement continued up to 31st August 1960 when on the recommendations of the Administrative Re-organization Committee, FBR was made an attached department of the Ministry of Finance. In 1974, further changes were made to streamline the organization and its functions. Consequently, the post of Chairman FBR was created with the status of ex-officio Additional Secretary and Secretary Finance was relieved of his duties as ex-officio Chairman of the FBR.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) of Pakistan is taking applications online for its latest job openings at the Directorate General of DNFBPs Headquarters in Islamabad and its Directorates (FBR Steno Typist Jobs 2023).

Candidates with an intermediate education and typing speeds of 40 WPM and shorthand speeds of 80 WPM are good candidates for the open seats. The age limit, with some flexibility in the upper age limit, is between 18 and 30.

Applicants looking for work who live in the relevant Region/Province under the control of the above-mentioned Directorates are eligible for the open seats in the desired Directorate. The areas that used to be FATA and PATA are now part of KPK.

The FBR Directorates has put out a call for fifteen Steno Typists (BPS-14). Both boys and girls can send in applications for this FBR Recruitment. Applicants living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit,  Baltistan, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad are eligible.
