Purpose:

Head Office-based position which will support Projects & Engineering Function in delivery of Civil / structural related developments for various Engineering Projects, identifying the design criteria, setting the baseline and deliverables related to civil works and structural engineering ensuring compliance by Designers and implementation by Construction contractor(s). Validation and/or risk assessment of proposed design options and appropriate selection.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring that adequate standards and baselines are set for the development of civil and structural engineering design basis for projects through the development of Project Standards & Functional specifications.
• Ensure compliance with design considerations in consultants' proposals and ensure compliance with contractor execution proposals with established standards and functional specifications.
• Establish QA / QC Assurance processes and procedures related to civil / construction works.
• Review and approve design consultant deliverables for compliance with standards and specifications, ensuring that best design practices and exception requests relating to civil and structural engineering elements.
• Monitor progress of the development of civil and structural engineering design deliverables ensuring adequate QA / QC processes are in place and propose corrective actions in the event of potential schedule overrun.
• Undertake inspections of civil and structural works at pre-defined hold points during fabrication and construction.
• Contribute to Project Risk workshops and follow up on discipline-related risks mitigating action plans.
• Undertake a review of previous lessons learned and incorporate of relevant lessons learned into the design.
• Participate in the procurement process – defining the ITT requisition packages, technical queries, and subsequent Technical Bid Evaluations.
• Contribute to the management of the change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes and variation order proposals relating to civil and structural engineering.
• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Engineering Manager’s accountabilities.
• Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SIL, and other HSSE-related reviews.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s (Hons)/ Masters' degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute in case of inland education.
• Candidates should be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry.
• Candidates with prior experience as a leader in the design and establishment of process facilities along with experience in project execution will be preferred.
